Business Development Manager, West Biomedical Sciences
An opening currently exists for a Business Development Manager. Responsible for the acquisition and expansion of new business in the Biomedical Sciences market. This role will cover the West region of the United States as well as parts of Canada.
Job Functions include but are not limited to:
1.In collaboration with Sales, quantify and qualify all proposed leads/projects for technical and commercial viability before commitment of Engineering resources and track via KPI’s. 2.Conduct technical seminars and in field calls with sales managers to uncover new business opportunities; develop sales penetration strategies and implement new opportunities as warranted and justified. 3.Assist Sales in account management decisions including pricing, technical support, strategic positioning. 4.Identify key decision makers within strategic accounts/prospects, initiate contact and position Porex as preferred supplier. 5.Identify breakthrough technologies and product specific technical requirements within the market that fall outside Porex capabilities and justify the business case for Porex development of same. 6.Identify with the assistance of marketing, specific customer targets for emerging technologies in Biomedical Sciences. 7.Technically evaluate current business within assigned market(s) segments to determine relative value and potential. Based on this analysis set appropriate priorities to expand Porex penetration of the market. 8.Attend industry conferences and exhibitions to develop business relationships, commercial opportunities and increase visibility within Biomedical Sciences market.
Experience: At least 5 years of experience related to Business Development/Sales within the Biomedical Sciences market.
Experience in creating and delivering technical and sales presentations to various audiences.
Excellent interpersonal and team communication skills.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
Ability to collaborate with both internal and external parties to optimize experience of all stakeholders.
Strong problem definition and resolution skills.
Ability to present, position and sell technology to multiple levels within an organization including R&D, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, C-suite.
Other skills and abilities:
Strong intrinsic motivation to constantly acquire new knowledge, particularly of the healthcare industry.
