The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine invites applications for the position of Assistant Director of Clinical Chemistry. This full-time, continuing position carries a primary faculty appointment at the Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University, at a rank commensurate with experience and academic activity (Instructor or Assistant Professor). This position is responsible for participating in the leadership of a coordinated core laboratory operation and Point of Care Testing, and in overseeing the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory. Thus, candidates with experience in clinical mass spectrometry are preferred. In addition to laboratory direction, the successful candidate will participate in clinical or translational research, and teach and supervise residents, fellows, and medical students. The candidate should be certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Pathology in Clinical Pathology or by the American Board of Clinical Chemistry. Lurie Children's Hospital is an independent, free-standing hospital that provides tertiary care pediatric services, with active programs in all pediatric specialties.
