Tulane University School of Medicine invites applications and nominations for the position of Division Chief, Gastroenterology.
With over 13 clinical and research faculty, the Division of Gastroenterology at Tulane University School of Medicine (Tulane SOM) has a strong record of achievement in research, patient care, and teaching. The Division’s clinical faculty includes individuals with expertise in general gastroenterology, hepatology (especially liver transplant), advanced therapeutic endoscopy, neurogastroenterology/motility, and colorectal cancer genetics. The division’s fellowship program invites up to three fellows per year.
Reporting to the Chair, Department of Medicine, the Division Chief is responsible for the overall administrative, academic, and clinical outcomes of the division. As Tulane SOM is one of the major academic medical centers in Louisiana, the Division Chief will serve as a key leader in interactions with gastroenterologists throughout the state.
QUALIFICATIONS: Tulane SOM seeks an accomplished academician and clinician with an M.D. from an accredited medical school, current board certification in gastroenterology, eligible for licensure in Louisiana, and appropriate academic qualifications for appointment at the rank of tenured Associate Professor or Professor. Candidates must have experience in developing and leading clinical programs, a strong program in clinical or laboratory-based research, a record of innovative and effective administrative experience, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrated commitment to promoting a diverse academic environment.
