Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is actively seeking a Clinical Chemist to join our Laboratory Services Team. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the clinical chemistry laboratories for our Egleston and Scottish Rite hospital locations, and will oversee point of care testing in the hospitals and throughout the community. You will also provide support for the laboratories in our various neighborhood Urgent Care locations throughout Metro Atlanta, and for our new Center for Advanced Pediatrics.
As a Clinical Chemist with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, you will have the opportunity to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team of both laboratory and clinical personnel. A solid fund of knowledge and excellent interpersonal skills are extremely important in this role, as you will be working as an influencer in a varied and geographically diverse area. As part of a large pediatric healthcare system, you will provide educational and support resources for patients, families, health care professionals and community agencies regarding pediatric laboratory issues. You will also participate in the growth and development of the clinical chemistry program at Children’s, and in helping to develop programmatic initiatives aimed at improving lab services for our patients and families.
• Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field
• Postdoctoral fellowship in the field of clinical chemistry
• Board certified or eligible by the American Board of Clinical Chemistry, or equivalent
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Clinical Lab Director in the state of Georgia
• Experience in pediatric lab medicine, as well as interest in academics, preferred
