The Vice President, Scientific Affairs provides guidance and recommendations to corporate leadership in matters involving medical and clinical science. He or she is responsible for identifying and developing new products and services as well as supporting Aegis payer contracting and business development strategies.
Successful candidates must possess:• Doctorate (Ph.D. in chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or Pharm.D.) required• A minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a Laboratory Director or Project Director for laboratory analysis and research required: • Toxicology and clinical chemistry experience required; additional knowledge/experience with forensic toxicology, clinical pathology, molecular diagnostics, and/or pharmaceutical clinical trials experience preferred • A minimum of five (5) years of laboratory management experience preferred• Ability to serve as CLIA/CAP Clinical Consultant upon hire preferred; appropriate board certification or eligible based on existing qualifications to obtain within 12 months of assuming this position required • Must complete all annual CEUs as required to obtain and maintain licensure and board certification• Experience working in the Managed Care environment with exposure to payer contracting and provider relations preferred • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work on multiple tasks without sacrificing quality, attention to detail, and ability to interact with staff and clients at all levels is required
