The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, Department of Pathology, invites applications to fill one part-time faculty position in the Medical Laboratory Sciences Program as Lecturer (open rank). Teaching responsibilities will include: Clinical Chemistry and Lab Operations Math as well as other teaching assignments that may vary from year to year. Faculty responsibilities will include but not be limited to: teaching, developing courses and participating in curriculum development and evaluation, student advisement and recruitment, collaboration with affiliated hospitals, and university and professional activities. Compensation will be commensurate with highest degree of education.
Minimum Requirements include: 1) Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field; 2) ASCP Board Certified in Medical Laboratory Science or Clinical Chemistry; 3) Relevant clinical technical experience within the past 3 years; 4) Teaching experience within the past 3 years; and 5) Must be eligible to work in the United States. Desirable qualifications: 1) Master’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field; 2) Documentation of online teaching; 3) Relevant teaching experience in Laboratory Math and Clinical Chemistry; 4) 3-5 years Clinical Chemistry experience which includes automation and special chemistry; 5) Teaching experience in several clinical laboratory science disciplines; 6) Expertise in developing and maintaining courses on-line; and 7) Documented evidence of on-going professional development.
