Providence is calling a Clinical Laboratory Assistant (Outreach Laboratory, Variable, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska.
In this position you will:
Provide efficient, accurate, and courteous service for PAMC patients or residents of Nursing Home Clients.
Provide accurate and timely collection and receiving of specimens for all patients in accordance with medical center and laboratory policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations.
Perform bedside tests (bleeding times) as requested.
Accurately enter data into hospital and laboratory computer systems related to patient billing and charting.
Perform processing functions to assure integrity of specimens for testing.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent
Phlebotomy certification from NCA, ASCP, NCCT, AMT, or other comparable certification such as from the military, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Mobil Intensive Care Paramedic (MICP), within 12 months after hire date
Valid driver's license
2 years of phlebotomy experience OR 1 year phlebotomy experience in a clinical setting ~ PAMC Lab employees of 6 months or greater with less that 1 year of experience will be considered with approval from the Director
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Experience in specimen processing
