BayCare currently has a career opportunity available for a Technical Director -Cytogenetics and Molecular. Reporting to the Scientific Director; the Technical Director, Cytogenetics & Molecular is responsible for both the Molecular and the Cytogenetics labs, overseeing their functions pertaining to clinical testing, test review, quality control, new test development and troubleshooting. The Technical Director reviews and interprets data from both Cytogenetics and Molecular departments including chromosome studies, microarray tests and molecular studies. Works in conjunction with the Medical and Scientific Director to assure compliance with accreditation agencies as well as continuous Quality Control and Quality Assurance.
Florida Director Cytogenetics and Molecular Pathology License; Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics or Molecular Pathology National Board exam; and 5 years of Molecular Pathology and Cytogenetics are required. Ten years of experience is preferred. Education: Doctorate’s Biological Science or Clinical Science required.
