Job Summary Provide supervision of a designated department within the Lab, to include personnel, procedure, instrumentation, compliance with regulatory agencies under the direction of the Laboratory Director. Orients and trains employees. Assists with or conducts employee recognition/discipline and evaluation process. Assists with budget preparation and implementation. May serve as a delegating technologist to a competent MLT on the same shift and be responsible for his/her work. In absence of direct supervision is able to temporarily act as a designated person in-charge. Provides accurate and timely laboratory information based on the performance of analytical tests on human body substances. Correlates and interprets test data. This is done to detect evidence of or prevent disease or impairment and to promote and monitor good health. Monitors quality assurance and maintains laboratory instrumentation, including all documentation. Follows established guidelines and protocols to provide requested clinical information to Physicians, nurses, and other relevant health care personnel. Working Conditions - General environment: Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels.

- May be scheduled as needed including overtime
- Will be exposed to hazardous substances or body fluids, or infectious organisms.
Qualifications Education Requirements - 2 year / Associate Degree in Allied Health (Required)
- 4 year / Bachelor's Degree in Natural Science or a related field (Preferred)
Experience Requirements - 2 - 3 years Experience as a Medical Technologist (Required)
- 1 - 2 years Management of a department/area/shift in a clinical Lab environment (Preferred)

Certifications and Licensures - Required Certifications/Licensures : Medical Technologist (MT-ASCP) or equivalent (Must meet State of Georgia personel requirements for laboratory supervisor.
