The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center invites applications for the position of Head of Clinical Chemistry at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. Harbor-UCLA Medical Center is affiliated with the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine and is located in the South Bay area of Los Angeles County. Academic appointment is in the UCLA School of Medicine. Experience in toxicology is desirable. The candidate is responsible for clinical consultation services and management of the clinical chemistry laboratories. The candidate is expected to actively participate in the Pathology teaching program including training of pathology residents, and occasional UCLA medical students and postdoctoral fellows. Independent and/or collaborative research is encouraged.
Applicants must be a doctoral clinical scientist in Biochemistry, and qualified for California licensure. Candidates must have a valid license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in California. Applicants who currently practice and/or reside in another state, must have a valid and unrestricted license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
