The Medical Lab Scientist is responsible for obtaining or receiving specimens and performing clinical laboratory tests using standardized procedures; performing quality control and preventive maintenance; and interpreting results accurately and within critical limits. The MLT works independently, organizing work to meet established deadlines and validating all data obtained.
Nationally recognized certification credentials with minimum Associate's degree in Medical Technology or in a related science
One year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting preferred
MLT (ASCP) designation preferred
Non-traditional routes to established skill level may be considered upon review of education/experience and evaluation in accordance with CLIA regulations for laboratory testing personnel
