POSITION PURPOSE: Responsible to provide and facilitate sterile supplies and equipment to all clinical departments. Selects and prepares appropriate supplies and equipment for all surgical cases in case carts and emergency carts. Responsible for instrument identification, inspection, care and handling and cleaning. Responsible for assembly of procedural and surgical trays and sets. Responsible for cleaning and decontamination functions to include high level disinfection of instruments and medical devices; steam and Sterrad sterilization of instruments and medical devices. Performs and records all quality control monitoring processes.
Graduate of an Accredited School of sterile processing technician program.
1-year SPD experience preferred or eligible Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology or IAHCSMM/CBSPDT certification.
PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
Eligible for Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology or IAHCSMM/CBSPDT certification.
