The Specialist, CLS Toxicology supports the departmental purpose through the performance of timely and accurate analytical specimen analysis, evaluating and implementing new procedures, methods and instrumentation, and quality assurance monitoring.
Must possess California State Issued Clinical Laboratory Science licensure.
Must possess technical knowledge of Toxicology Laboratory testing.
Experience working with principles of quality control and quality assurance; ability to recognize processes that could lead to test failures.
Experience performing method validations, including Laboratory Developed Tests (LDTs).
Experience troubleshooting problematic assays and instruments.
Experience writing clear technical reports and/or policies and procedures.
Knowledge of personal computer, word processing, data management, spreadsheet software, Laboratory Information System (LIS) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Experience with regulatory requirements pertaining to the clinical laboratory.
Excellent organization, time management and prioritization skills.
Ability to work well under pressure and remain flexible in changing work environment.
Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to lead discussions, articulate test procedures and to interact with medical providers and staff.
Excellent data collection, data analysis/interpretation, and presentation skills.
Ability to function and work in a diverse work environment.
