ANATOMIC PATHOLOGY/CYTOPATHOLOGY SUPERVISOR

The chosen professional will:

• Coordinate and supervise the performance of the technical staff for the unit
• Ensure patient samples are prepared for review and evaluation
• Screen Cytopathology samples and review slides according to department guidelines
• Train new employees as assigned
• Assist the Pathologists with fine needle aspiration
• Report negative GYN cases and abnormal cases to the Pathologist for review

To qualify, one must possess:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare or related field
• Minimum of 6 years in a clinical laboratory in a hospital setting. Supervisory experience preferred.
• Must be a NY State licensed Cytotechnologist
• Certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology preferred.
• Knowledge of laboratory information system(s) – Preferably Sunquest
• Must pass a color-blind test
