ANATOMIC PATHOLOGY/CYTOPATHOLOGY SUPERVISOR

The chosen professional will:
- Coordinate and supervise the performance of the technical staff for the unit
- Ensure patient samples are prepared for review and evaluation
- Screen Cytopathology samples and review slides according to department guidelines
- Train new employees as assigned
- Assist the Pathologists with fine needle aspiration
- Report negative GYN cases and abnormal cases to the Pathologist for review
To qualify, one must possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare or related field
- Minimum of 6 years in a clinical laboratory in a hospital setting. Supervisory experience preferred.
- Must be a NY State licensed Cytotechnologist
- Certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology preferred.
- Knowledge of laboratory information system(s) – Preferably Sunquest
- Must pass a color-blind test
